The Best Barbers & Mens Grooming Rooms in Dublin 2019

Dublin’s Grooming Rooms

Barbers in Dublin have taken a step up in recent years. It’s rare to find a Barbers in Dublin City Centre that doesn’t give you a beer or Whiskey along with your hair cut.

Barbers these days and Grooming Room are something more than a conveyor belt barber, it’s a place where a guy can go to while away an afternoon with a beer or coffee and have a chat with someone they can shoot the breeze with.

Grooming Rooms: The Difference.

The process of the actual haircut or wet shave is an accompaniment to an afternoons pleasure, there are many fine barbers in Dublin where you can go to kick back for a few hours and pamper yourself.
You’ll find a great selection of grooming treatments which will include a traditional Wet Shave somewhere on its list!

The vibe in these places is great, a real sense of Old World charm in an otherwise out of control world with people from every walk of life conversing and generally kicking back.

As is obvious, Men looking after themselves is something which is now the norm, and as such there is a great selection of places where a man can go in Dublin to relax, converse and get a haircut and a wet shave.

This is by no means a “Top 17.5 random haircuts to get before you die and make your life seem insufficient, wait till you see number 11” (We’re sick of those too) or a complete list of Grooming Rooms in Dublin, more a run down of places that we’ve actually been to and experienced. View it more as a selection of places in Dublin that are doing it right, with minimal pretentious overtones and a fair price for a great service, you’ll fit right in.

The Waldorf Barbers

Take a step back in time at the Waldorf Barbershop, one of Dublin’s best kept secrets

A Dublin institution for those in the know, the Waldorf Barber recently celebrated its 85th anniversary this year, the founder Liam recently passed away (RIP) and he was an absolute legend on the Barbering scene. The Waldorf Barbers is one of Dublin’s hidden gems. If you can find it hidden away on Westmoreland Street, marked only by a barber’s pole above the door, then walking through the door is like taking a step back in time. From the decor to the music and the equipment, everything reminds you of your typical corner barbershop that you might have seen in movies about the 1950s. Part of the great institution’s charm is that old style, but there is a downside to it. Heading there on a Saturday morning meant waiting a few hours as there was no way of booking an appointment, and while the wait was worth it, sometimes you just didn’t have the time. There was no way to guarantee you could pop in on your lunch one day to get a trim and actually make it back to the office before it was time to clock out – that’s part of the beauty of the place though – the complete lack of technology – it’s actually refreshing.

Headcase Barbers

Headcase Barbers is actually a UK chain that has recently opened up in Dublin, although we’re not a fan of chains (Starbucks be gone) this place is actually really cool and slick and the barbers are top class local lads and gals. With glowing 5 star reviews on Google maps, you can rest assured that you’ll get a good mop chop if you’re out in Ranelagh.

We actually stock some of our products there too so you’ll be able to grab some Manly Stuff shaving gear!

BARBIERE:

A new kid on the block in some ways, Barbiere aims to bring a sophisticated and laid back Italian barbershop experience to the men of Ireland, offering Irish guys a taste of Italian male grooming.

Putting a modern twist on a traditional Italian barbers Barbiere, aims to bring some ‘dolce vita’ to the streets of Dublin.Barbiere

Barbiere owner Enny Buono learned his Italian barbering craft from his father in Naples and his skills go back four generations of Neapolitan barbers. The Barbiere style is all encompassing – pompadours and skin fades are all well and good, but if that’s all your barber can do then it doesn’t leave much room for individuality. Nobody wants a city full of guys who look the same! The guys use iPads as a visual aid to really get an idea of what a client is trying to achieve and to ensure that once the razor comes out, everyone knows where it’s going to lead.

The interiors of the Barber Shop are based on contemporary Italian style, exposed brick walls, burnt orange tones reminiscent of Roman and Tuscan buildings and natural leather textures with clean masculine lines comprise the interiors. A bespoke orange vespa on the wall and the complimentary Lavazza coffee are firm favourites of the Barbiere clientele.

Barbiere is a very plush place where a truely modern gentlemen can go to experience a fantastic grooming experience. A very special grooming room.

Sams Barbers:

Sam’s Barbers Est. 1901 is a family run chain of barber shops that cover all aspects of men’s grooming, from classic haircuts and hot towel shaves to beard maintenance.

A real piece of Dublin’s grooming puzzle.

With 5 locations throughout Dublin they provide two types of barbershops that cater for all:

Sam’s Local: The barbershops that have been serving the “local” communities for many years. Which offer a great low cost service without the compromise of quality for families, students and OAP’s.

And Sam’s Central: The long established city centre located barbershops that provide a more tailored barbering experience. Specialising in traditional barbering cutting techniques, hot towel shaving (wet shaving), beard maintenance and the added convenience of online appointments. They also offer a wide range of men’s premium grooming products.

Gmale:

A new concept in male grooming, located in the heart of Ranelagh.

Gmale Grooming Rooms

Whilst providing a chilled out atmosphere, they offer a range of treatments from hair care, hot towel shaving, skincare, massage, waxing and tanning, all under one roof.

The vibe is relaxed, the beers are cold and the service is second to none, we can recommend Gmale as the perfect way to spend an afternoon whilst your partner is shopping or getting the nails done. A truly relaxing experience, we dare you to stay awake during one of their massages or facials, it’s impossible!

Just in case the high quality of service and products aren’t enough, GMALE offers free beers to their customers as well as providing live sports on their plasmas and the latest xbox games to play in the waiting area. So what are you waiting for? Get on it!

They are giving men the opportunity to enjoy the exclusivity of a male only environment while having the high standard of a hairdresser experience. All the staff are highly trained and experienced in all aspects of hairdressing, therefor can create whatever style is required by each individual client.Davey Davey
